My Story

We lost my wife Julie to breast cancer in 2018.

Despite being ill with chomtheraphy, radiotheraphy, operations and psychological stress, Julie fought with dignity and humour.  The world is a darker place without her presence.

I hope everyone that knew her as a friend, colleague or student will help me remember her and to help fight breast cancer for others.

Breast Cancer Now supported us during the almost five year fight.

We were lucky enough to have medical care and few financial worries but many are not so fortunate.  This fundraiser is to help others fight this devastating disease, it makes a lot of difference when facing the unknown; and there are lots of unknowns during this journey.

Many of you who know me will probably remember me as the overweight person who liked to watch rugby, have some booze and play with technology and video games.  That's very rude - I'll have you know that I was once fairly fit and a decent sportsperson!

This is the one and only time I'll ask for sponsorship and whoever donates and guesses closest to my finish time will receive a bottle of Julie's favourite Bollinger.  Just add your guess as a message on your donation - no DNFs please!

You'll see my training log below and I'll post updates as and when.
