My Story
I am doing the London Marathon 21st April to help farming families in Eastern Africa. I had heard about Farm Africa from an initiative in my work at John Thompson & Sons and thought I could really make a difference for the charity. I am aiming to raise over £2,000 for Farm Africa which reduces poverty in Eastern Africa by supporting farmers to grow more, sell more and sell for more. I wanted to join Team Farm Africa because of the great work they do and also to fulfil a bucket list dream of mine. Over the years I have done more than 450 park runs so hope this will stand me in good shape. I have been training for over 4 months and hope to complete the race in one piece- and hopefully in a time I can be proud of!
Farm Africa is a great chariry- more than half of the world's extreme poor live in sub-Saharan Africa- the vast majority work in agriculture.

Info on the Marathon:
The London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.
Over the years more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the very best that the capital city has to offer.
What’s more, these participants have raised over a billion pounds for charity and there have been countless amazing tales of human achievement throughout the event’s history – living up to its aim of helping participants ‘to have fun, and provide some happiness and sense of achievement in a troubled world’.
