My Story

Welcome to Lizzie & Rachel’s joint fundraising page!

Lizzie and Rach will be taking to the streets of London once again to tackle the 2024 London Marathon in support of Children with Cancer. We have pledged to raise £4,000 between us which will massively help towards the invaluable work that Children with Cancer do.

We have chosen to run for Children with Cancer in memory of an incredibly brave young boy, Connor Owlett, who sadly passed away in October 2021, 2 days before his 9th birthday.
Last year, a group from Connor’s football club ran the London Marathon and raised a huge amount for the charity. We want to continue these efforts and would be so grateful for any donation you can make.

By donating and supporting Children with Cancer, you are helping thousands of children and families impacted by Cancer. For every £ donated, 39p goes towards research, 31p to support families, 15p towards raising awareness and 15p for fundraising.

Thank you so much,

Lizzie & Rach x

The London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.

Over the years more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the very best that the capital city has to offer.

What’s more, these participants have raised over a billion pounds for charity and there have been countless amazing tales of human achievement throughout the event’s history – living up to its aim of helping participants ‘to have fun, and provide some happiness and sense of achievement in a troubled world’.
