My Story

I know many people who are affected by addiction. It can wreck the lives of the addict and the people around them. It also leads to high levels of crime as addicts often steal to fund their habits. The cause of many addiction issues is childhood trauma. The Forward Trust tries to help people deal with these traumas, overcome their addictions, and get their lives back together. I have been to annual reunions of Forward Trust graduates and seen people who have been in and out of prison since childhood, who have turned their lives around with the help of the charity.  I have never run a marathon and am not a spring chicken but I want to do this - even if I have to limp around the course. Please give generously - even if you aren't affected directly by addiction you are affected by crime.
