Rajendra Regmi - London Marathon

My Story

So far, I have participated in nearly 400 parkruns (5 Km), more than 60 half marathons, and numerous 10 Km events.  To me "Running is a Metaphor for Life". Running has helped me to maintain and improve my health and well-being. I work at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK.

I am participating in the London Marathon on 21st April 2024 and it is a 26.2-mile course – Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace. This will be my 7th marathon. Running a marathon requires a huge commitment. A suitable training plan is a must to ensure success and avoid injuries.

By running this marathon, I am raising some funds for a UK-based charity - Get Kids Going (https://www.getkidsgoing.com). It is a national charity that gives disabled children and young people, up to the age of 26 years, the wonderful opportunity to participate in sports. It helps disabled children participate in varieties of sports by providing specific equipment, such as wheelchairs. It also provides year-round support to enable them to compete with able bodied children in terms of running, skiing, tennis, rugby, triathlons and many more sports. Some of the young people even go on to compete internationally in the Para Olympics etc, so please help me help them realise their potential.

I cannot imagine completing this project without your support. Every donation counts however small.
