My Story
I am really fortunate that I have not been bereaved by suicide, but I am running to prevent deaths, particularly of neuro-diverse people.
There are neuro-diverse people in my family, and I have seen the devastating impact this has had on their mental health. Autistic people are nine times more likely to take their lives, and people with ADHD are five times more like to take their lives. I want to raise money so that Samaritans can reach and support more neuro-diverse people, so that they are able to feel safe and can access Samaritans fantastic services in their time of need.
Please help me raise money for Samaritans and help to reduce the terrible statistic that neuro-diverse people are more likely to take their lives than neuro-typical people.
I'm running to show others there is always hope and to raise money to help Samaritans be here, day and night, for anyone who's struggling to cope.
Every step I take and pound we raise could help train more volunteers, answer more calls for help and, ultimately, save lives. I'm running with the official Charity of the Year for the 2024 TCS London Marathon, to show millions of people that no matter what they're facing, a Samaritan will face it with them.
We believe in tomorrow and together we can save lives.
