My Story

You’re here! Thank you!

In April I will be running the London Marathon 2024 with my big sister Dr Liz all to raise funds for Brain Research UK a cause that is very close to our hearts.

Our mum suffered a life changing brain injury a few years ago and this has had a huge impact on her life. She is a wonder, showing resilience through this injury that has affected her hugely.

The last few years has brought a lot of close family illness and has really tested our own resilience.  This will be a huge challenge, but nothing compared to the daily challenges members of my family and Liz's patients are having to face every day.

Brain Research UK funds research into many of the areas that have and are still directly affecting my family and my sisters patients- traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, brain tumours, dementia, Parkinsons disease, multiple sclerosis and many other neurological diseases. The work they fund is so important and potentially life changing for many.

If I get up to £1000 I will run in a fancy dress!

PLEASE sponsor myself and Liz!

Below is more about the charity's work and on their website are links to the studies they are currently funding- have a look and then please give them some money and me some more support in doing this!!

Thank You for your help, it means a great deal.

Brain Research UK is the UK’s leading national funder dedicated to research into neurological conditions. They fund vital research to increase understanding, improve diagnosis and treatment, and work towards the prevention of neurological conditions, to help people who suffer with them live better, longer. Their funding is currently focused on three priority research areas: Brain tumours, Brain and spinal cord injury, and Headache and facial pain. These are areas where there is a large unmet patient need that is not reflected in current funding levels. By concentrating efforts on these three areas, they can have a more significant impact.

Help me to make a difference - your support means that we can continue to fund life-changing research so that people living with neurological conditions can live better longer.
