My Story

On Sunday 21st April 2024 I’ll be taking on the challenge of running the London Marathon, which is my first ever Marathon (I’m not sure why I’ve waited until my forties to attempt this!)

I’ve always appreciated the mental and physical benefits of being active and doing sport which is why I’m running the Marathon for London Sport, a charity that aims to support people from the most deprived communities in London gain access to sport and physical activity.

I was lucky that I was introduced to sport at a young age (Shropshire Under 5’s short tennis champion I’ll have you know!) and as a Dad of two young girls I’m keen that my children get the same opportunities that I had. I’m proud of the work that London Sport does to support children from all backgrounds in London benefit from opportunities of getting into sport.

Any donations you are able to make will help the team at London Sport deliver more services across London.

So thank you for your support, it’s very much appreciated and fingers crossed my middle-aged knees survive the 26.2 mile course! Wish me luck. Rob
