My Story

Hemming, my sons best friend, and my best friends son, was diagnosed with a high grade glyoma in early 2023. When I decided ro run the marathon Hemming was still with us, however, the cancer was incurable and it is with great sadness that I share Hemming lost his battle on the 17th October 2023, aged 9 years, 6 months, and 24 days.

Cancer is still the most common medical cause of death in children, and the Children with Cancer charity funds critical research to develop safer, kinder cancer therapies for children to either cure of extend life with fewer toxic side effects. They provide support to families who need travel for therapy, put on special events for the children and fund welfare projects.

Although it is too late for Hemming, it' not too late for so many others and I am running the London marathon to raise fund for this vital charity, not only for Hemming, his family and friends, but in the name of everyone that is, or will be impacted by similar events.

UPDATE: Thanks to everyone for their genorosity, its very moving to see so many people supporting the cause.
