My Story

On Sunday 21st April I have the absolute privilege of running the London Marathon on behalf of the Back Up Trust! Incidentally it is also my birthday and I can think of no better way to celebrate than raising vital funds and awareness for a charity that is of particular importance to me and my family.

Back Up is a UK charity that provides help to people of all ages and backgrounds who have been affected by spinal cord injuries in rebuilding their confidence and independence through training, mentoring, skills courses and support services for individuals and their families.

After a family member suffered a spinal cord injury as a young child, I have seen first hand at how life-changing it can be and how valuable the services Back Up provide to others are. But have also been inspired by the determination, reslience and bravery shown to not let this devastating injury prevent someone from thriving and succeeding in life, both personally and professionally. For this reason I am committed to raising funds and awareness for Back Up so that others with spinal cord injuries may also benefit from greater independence and continue to inspire those around them.
