My Story
I'm running the London Marathon in support of the Sick Children's Trust, an extraordinary charity providing "Home from Home" accommodation for families with seriously ill children undergoing treatment in hospitals.
In 2015, when my daughter was just 11 days old, she suffered heart failure and was admitted to pediatric intensive care. She spent a month in PICU and almost two months in the hospital. Throughout her stay in hospital, we stayed at Eckersley House, part of The Sick Children's Trust, which allowed us to be with our daughter day and night.
These houses offer a lifeline, where families can stay free of charge, just moments away from their child's hospital bedside. The Trust asks for no money from families, but it costs £40 a night to provide this invaluable support. Your support is vital to ensure these homes are available for families in need, and every donation, no matter how small, makes a significant difference.
