Title: Running for Hearts: A Tribute to My Sister and Support for Cardiomyopathy UK
Introduction: Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
In April 2024, I'll be removing my running and going barefoot 👣 with 24 JJ Caerphilly G.I buttons and rash vest as an extreme ironer (Ironing board, iron and shirt) for the iconic London Marathon. But this isn't just about crossing the finish line; it's about running with purpose and passion. I'm honored to announce that I'll be running to support Cardiomyopathy UK, a cause very close to my heart.
Why Cardiomyopathy UK: Cardiomyopathy UK is a lifeline for many families, including mine. At 33, my sister's life was tragically cut short by hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Her passing left a void in our family that can never be filled. Yet, her legacy lives on through the unwavering support of Cardiomyopathy UK.
My Personal Connection: The impact of cardiomyopathy doesn't end with my sister. My niece battles this condition daily, as do her two young daughters. Witnessing their struggles and triumphs has strengthened my resolve to make a difference. Through this marathon, I aim to honor my sister's memory and stand in solidarity with my niece and her children.
The Cause: Cardiomyopathy is a complex heart condition that affects thousands of lives every year. It's a silent threat that often goes undetected until it's too late. But organizations like Cardiomyopathy UK provide vital support, education, and research to improve outcomes for those affected by this condition.
Why Support Matters: Your support can help Cardiomyopathy UK continue their invaluable work. From funding research to providing emotional support to families in need, every donation has the power to make a difference. Together, we can ensure that no family faces the challenges of cardiomyopathy alone.
Join Me: As I train tirelessly for this marathon, I invite you to join me on this journey. Whether you pledge a donation, spread awareness, or simply offer words of encouragement, your support means the world to me and countless others impacted by cardiomyopathy.
Conclusion: On race day, as I pound 👣 the pavements of London, I'll carry with me the memories of my sister and the hope of a brighter future for those battling cardiomyopathy. Together, let's turn our strides into meaningful change and make every mile count.
Thank you for your unwavering support.
Warm regards,
Scott
