My Story

I’m running the 2024 London Marathon with my Fiancé Michael, in aid of the Meningitis Research Foundation.

Meningitis Research Foundation is a leading international charity, working to defeat meningitis and septicaemia since 1989. Michael was diagnosed with Meningococcal Meningitis at just 4 months old and thanks to the vital research of the disease, he was able to get the most effective diagnosis and treatment quickly.

10-15 people in 100 diagnosed with Meningococcal Meningitis sadly don't make it, making meningitis the 2nd largest infectious killer in the world. What's more, 1 of 5 people who get Meningococcal Meningitis are left with an impairment such as brain injury or loss of limbs. Michael is extremely lucky to not have suffered any consequences that would prevent him from living the very happy and healthy life he has.

To successfully defeat Meningitis, the charities and organisations involved will need to inject large sums of money into the initiative. So, by running for MRF, I am playing my part in defeating Meningitis, an infection that takes away the precious lives of many children, strips young kids of the possibility for a normal life and devastates families and friends across the globe.

Please join me in raising money and awareness of a wonderful charity whose crucial research has saved, and continues to save, thousands of lives.

Thank you xxx
