My Story
On the 6th of September 2006 my life was turned upside down when I lost my left leg, above the knee, after standing on an anti personnel mine in Helmand province, Afghanistan, whilst on Op Herrick IV.
My right leg was also very badly injured, but thanks to the medical treatment I received, this was able to be spared.
The charity BLESMA has assisted in letting me live as normal a life as I can, mostly through outdoor sports, including, mono skiing, skydiving & skibiking, which I have been lucky enough to take part over the last 8 years in Austria & France.
I was lucky enough to get a place on the 2016 London marathon with BLESMA & completed this in 7 hour 21 min, so, hopefully, I can beat this time in 2024.
