My Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.  Many of you will know I started my running journey very late and achieved my first marathon only 3 days before my 50th birthday at Beachy Head in 2019.

I applied to run the London Marathon for many reasons, two of which are how iconic a race it is and because I want to follow in the footsteps of my Uncle Brian who was lucky enough to run it twice (at a much younger age than me!).  I applied to run it for The Forward Trust, not only because of the work they do which is detailed below, but because they gave me a job at a time when I was probably at my lowest in terms of self-confidence in the working world.  I was desperate to leave a job in which I was SO miserable, and as crazy as it sounds, I really feel FT rescued me from a horrible place.  Whilst I might not fit the criteria of their usual clientele, it follows that such a charity is there to help others in many different ways, sometimes in ways they don't realise they need.  Please read the generic desciption of their work below and I truly hope you are able to donate both for me and the work of Forward.

Many thanks and love to you.
