My Story

Thank you for visiting my Enthuse page. I’m proud to be running the TCS London Marathon 2024 and raising important funds and awareness for Anaphylaxis UK, a charity of great importance to me. 

Anaphylaxis is a severe, life-threatening allergic reaction and hospital admissions due to allergies and anaphylaxis in England have nearly doubled in the last twenty years. 

In May 2021 my 17 year old daughter Alexandra died during a routine operation from anaphylaxis due to one of the anaesthetic agents used. She had no known allergies prior to this.

Alexandra was a wonderful daughter, a ray of sunshine to all she met. Her death has shattered our lives and running has become my space to process my grief, allowing me time to think about her.

Anaphylaxis UK is the only UK-wide charity operating solely for the growing numbers of people at risk of serious allergic reactions and anaphylaxis. For 30 years, they have been striving for a brighter future for everyone living with a serious allergy by providing trusted and scientifically-based resources and training to individuals and families, education settings, businesses, and healthcare professionals.
