My Story

We are taking on the iconic 2024 London Marathon in memory of our Dad, Graham, who tragically took his own life in October 2021. With the hope of raising awareness about mental health and suicide prevention, we have chosen to support Samaritans, the London Marathon Charity of the Year.

As many of you know, one of Dad’s biggest passions was sport and he was always our top supporter in all sorts of competitions, races and tournaments over the years. Playing sport together was often when he was at his happiest so we think this is a fitting tribute and a positive way to remember him.

Our mission is to build on the amount our friends and family helped us to raise for the Manchester Marathon event in 2022. We hope to raise even more this time round (with all 3 of us set to run the 26.2 miles)! We're excited to take on this marathon alongside our Mum, Lucinda, who has been our pillar of strength and support.

Samaritans plays a crucial role in providing emotional support 24/7 to anyone struggling, offering a compassionate ear to listen no matter what you’re going through. The charity is also close to our hearts as, despite facing his own ill-health, Dad trained to become a Samaritans volunteer to help others going through difficult times, which we think is pretty amazing. So any amount you are able to give will mean so much to us.

With your generous support, we can make a difference and carry on the spirit of hope and strength that Dad embodied. Every pound we raise could help train more volunteers, answer more calls for help and ultimately, save lives.

Thank you for all your support💛
