My Story

I am running the 2024 London Marathon for Brain Research UK!

I lost my Dad, Robert Knight, in late November 2022, after a devastating fall at home. He never regained consciousness and sadly passed 2 days later due to a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

My Dad passed away whilst in the Atkinson Morley wing, at St George's hospital. There, my Mum and I saw first hand, the suffering felt by family and friends of patients with brain injuries.

I am therefore extremely proud to be running for Brain Research UK, where I can hopefully raise funds, and awareness, for a wonderful charity. Any amount of donation will be greatly appreciated.

Brain Research UK is the UK’s leading national funder dedicated to research into neurological conditions. They fund vital research to increase understanding, improve diagnosis and treatment, and work towards the prevention of neurological conditions, to help people who suffer with them live better, longer. Their funding is currently focused on three priority research areas: Brain tumours, Brain and spinal cord injury, and Headache and facial pain. These are areas where there is a large unmet patient need that is not reflected in current funding levels.

By concentrating efforts on these three areas, they can have a more significant impact.Help me to make a difference - your support means that we can continue to fund life-changing research so that people living with neurological conditions can live better longer.

If anyone fancies joining me on any runs prior to the big day, please get in touch x

For you, Dad 💙
