My Story

Hi, my name is Tom and I have Cystic Fibrosis.

For those that don't know Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a life long illness which affects over 100,000 people world wide. Although research is continuing and different medicines are being produced there is currently no cure.

I was diagnosed with CF when I was 18 months old. Due to this I don't know a life without it however I'm lucky enough that due to support from my parents and all the doctors, nurses, physios, dieticians and everyone else that has worked at Watford General, The Brompton and Wonford Exeter I live a relatively 'normal' life.

Thanks to their support I am able healthy enough to take part in the 2024 London Marathon, my aim is to raise £2,500 and I plan to run in under three and a half hours.

The money I raise will continue to help the CF Trust fund and support cutting-edge research to find new and better treatments for CF.

Although I ran the Bath Half Marathon in 2019 for CF, I plan to fully dedicate myself to London 24 by training properly ... last time I went on two training runs and really regretted it on the day!

This will be my first (and hopefully not last) marathon so any support would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Tom😀
