My Story

I am running the London Marathon in April raising funds for a local Leicestershire charity, The Laura Centre.

The Laura Centre – For when a child dies or is bereaved. The Laura Centre offers holistic bereavement support, bereavement counselling services for adults, families, and young people, they offer support to families, helping them to explore their grief, and to find a way to move forward in their lives. They are a compassionate community dedicated to bringing comfort to those navigating the challenging path of grief. Living in Leicestershire all my life it was important to me to help raise funds for a local charity, and it is a privilege to be able to run the London Marathon, raising funds for The Laura Centre.

My personal connections with The Laura Centre are from the support they offered a family member following the loss of my sister-in-law in 2016. The Laura Centre supported a friend, and her family from my running club ‘The Squirrels’ following the death of her 10 year old daughter Emily Rose.

Fundraising for The Laura Centre isn’t just about raising funds - it’s about raising hope and support for those that need it most. Please support my running journey by sponsoring me and raising funds for The Laura Centre, and the amazing work they do helping families to heal.
