My Story

I am hugely excited to be running the London Marathon, for such a great charity in Racing Welfare. Having worked within the racing industry since the age of 18. I have seen first hand the great work that Racing Welfare do.

Having come through the Northern Racing Collage, I spent 5 years with Grade 1 winning National Huint Trainer Harry Fry. During my later years with Harry, I used the Careers Advice and Training Services via the Racing Welfare website. The service that Racing Welfare provided, helped me secure the role of Trainee Clerk of the Course with the Jockey Club. I am now in my 3rd year of being an accredited Clerk of the Course, which certainly would not have been possible, without the help of Racing Welfare and it's services.

So far, my training has gone well. In which I started back in the summer of 2023. I will be running the Warwick Half marathon on Sunday 4th February as part of my training programme.

My main goal for the Marathon is to beat my younger brothers time of 4 Hours 3 Minutes!! He ran the London Marathon for Racing Welfare in back 2021. Along with trying to raise as much money as possible.

The London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.

Over the years more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the very best that the capital city has to offer.

What’s more, these participants have raised over a billion pounds for charity and there have been countless amazing tales of human achievement throughout the event’s history – living up to its aim of helping participants ‘to have fun, and provide some happiness and sense of achievement in a troubled world’.
