My Story

Thank you firstly for visiting my page and taking the time to read my story.

I work at St Clare's Hospice with The Hospice @ Home Team and we help to make it easier for our patients to have their pallative care needs met at home with their family around them. Our journey with our patients and families are so special to us and every individual is treated the same with love, care, support and with so much respect.

We help make it possible along with our CNS team, Distric Nurses and our pallative Nursing team at St Clare's for our patients to have the most comfortable last few weeks with their loved ones. We help take away the strain on the family members having to care and nurse for their sons, daughters and parents. This includes daily personal care which can include 3 visits a day and overnight stays to sit and care for our patients. Ordering equipment to help maintain safe and comfortable adapted living arrangements to suit the needs of our patient and making sure they have their needed medications.

Our patients illnesses are all different along with their ages and unfortunately we don't always know when it could be one of our family members, So for our Hospice doors to remain open and for us to deliver our service to your homes, We really do rely on as much charity donations as possible to help a family to have this care and love in these difficult times.

I'm running the marathon to help raise money for my team to continue their hard work and for the hospice as a whole so we can help make it a little more special in the times when it's so hard.

I can't express how amazing St Clare's Hospice is and I feel honoured to run for this amazing charity and my place of work and to know how important your donation means to one of our families who needs us to be there daily.

Even if it's a small donation you know you will be helping. I'm so grateful for your donations and support. I'm not going to lie I'm really scared to run this marathon as I'm now 47 and struggling to get my body to work as well as it used to work, but with your encouragement and support I will do it 🤍

Thank you from me and St Clare's Hospice 🙏
