My Story

The reason I'm running the London Marathon to raise money for 'Breast Cancer Now' is that just over a year ago (January 2023), after over two years of fighting the disease I sadly lost my daughter Kristal to secondary breast cancer. She was only 38 at the time and left two young sons without a mother. Late last year the family went through another scare when my daughter Lucy discovered a lump in her breast. Fortunately after a very anxious wait for her results, they proved to be negative but it brought back the nightmare we went through as a family when we lost Kristal - I certainly didn't relish the thought of going through the same again!

From a personal perspective I have experienced how Breast cancer continues to have devastating impacts on people’s lives. Anyone can be affected and the cost of the disease is alarming. At Breast Cancer Now they are here to change the lives of people affected by breast cancer. How? By combining the power of research and support!

Their world-class researchers are working in labs across the UK and Ireland to create a world where the words "breast cancer" aren't met with fear. They are building a brighter future for everyone affected by breast cancer but they need your help to do this, so please donate to my page, every donation is gratefully received no matter how small! Wish me luck in my marathon challenge and help me achieve my fundraising target!
