Half dozen marathons supporting Action for Children

My Story
Thanks for stopping by
I’ve decided to kick my own arse and take on six marathons in six months, finishing with the London Marathon on April 21st
I've chosen to dedicate this challenge to Action for Children, a charity who support vulnerable children, young people and their families across the UK, providing care, protection, and the crucial support they need. Your support goes toward healthy & happy childhoods: https://www.actionforchildren.org.uk/
You may be wondering why anyone would subject themselves to that many miles, hills and chafed nipples? For me, the answer’s simple: Why not. Those who know me well know I've faced a fair share of injuries (broken leg, neck to name a few). These near misses have taught me not to waste an opportunity to move, run or throw myself into a challenge!
I'll be fuelled along the way by maceronie pies, irn bru and of course, boiled eggs. Join me for the half dozen journey!
Marathons:
Nov 25th. Edinburgh. Part of Dave's mad bdy run "The Longshorts Round". Summit 21 hills through Edinburgh and the Pentland Skyline... PLUS drink a pint between each section... That's 10 pints! UPDATE: Managed 18 hills, 10 delicious beers and 35 MILES... Epic day out with HBT contingent, sore leags (and head) afterward
Dec 21-22nd. 24 hour mararthon. Yorks Dales. Ont' shortest day of the year I plan to run a mile (and a bit) every hour for 24 hours, finishing with a few ales in The Listers Arms, Malham. UPDATE: epic & exhausting. Boxed off loads of jobs and sank a few Christmas ales!
Imagine this but with mince pies n head torches:
Jan 1st. North Leeds Greenway Ultra a sobering start to 2024, taking on 34 miles of trails surrounding my old home city, Leeds. UPDATE... Tough day, hella boggy, great snacks. Little injured after.
Feb 18th. Glentress Trail Marathon joined by the Glentress Gophers Martin, Luca & Aaron through the hilly Glentress Forest. UPDATE... My slowest and most painful yet! Thrilled to make it round after some gnarly injuries during the build up.
March 9th. John Muir Ultra Staying local and ploddin along the iconic John Muir Trail for 31 miles, finsihing in Dunbar. East coast, let's av it! UPDATE... Epic one running the whole thing with Matt and some of Trotters.
April 21st. London Marathon. Aaaand finally, run the capital for the grand finale! I'm buzzing to bring the challenge to a close. Hopefully your support will carry me through!
