My Story

For anyone who runs, The London Marathon is a pinnacle event.  I've never met a runner who didn't aspire to run it at least once.  And when you finally get the opportunity to, there are few who wouldn't try to find a charity that means something to them to raise money for.

For my first ever marathon, I'm raising money for The Avenues Youth Project - a charity local to me whose mission is to give hope and opportunities to children and young people in West London, so they fulfil their potential and leave prepared and excited for adult life.

They do amazing work with local children and young adults, providing activities that encompass sport, healthy cooking, music, art, dance, radio, skills development and helping them with their career pathways.

The skills and passion that they have for providing the community's younger generation with a place of learning, play and support is immense and their impact cannot be overstated.

At a time when youth centres are struggling with funding and every year more and more close, it's vital that organisations like The Avenues Youth Project are supported so that every person growing up in the community has the opportunity to develop to their full potential.
